I have a somewhat unique view on the shroud. Without any
access and with limited information, I take EVERYONE at
face value. And this leaves me with an image that can not
be replicated but is only 700 years old.

And I'm fine with that.

Is a miracle any less miracles just because it's not as
old as a particular narrative needs it to be?

You don't need Jesus to be divine in order to have a body
and die. But you do need divine intervention for a miracle.

So, take the miracle and be happy! Someday science or a
clever artist may rob you of even that...

I don't believe the dating is correct. The image on the
Shroud cannot be explained, and therefore the unexplained
nature of the image might be the reason why the dating is
inaccurate.

I've said a few times that I don't need the Shroud to
be real for me to believe that Jesus is the Son of God,
that he was crucified, buried, then resurrected from
the dead. And then rose up into the clouds to sit at
the right hand of God the Father. I believe all of
that, whether the Shroud is real or not.

But I also believe that the Shroud is real. It doesn't
need to be proven to me that it's real, I accept it
as real because it's the best explanation I have for
the way the unexplained image was inbedded into the
cloth.

I doubt it, but even if that happens, it won't change
my mind about Jesus.

Hmm, that's probably why we don't go there in our Earthly
body. The Bible says we will be changed before we are
taken up. Being the Bible expert that you say you are,
I would have expected you to know that.

The Bible also informs us that the dead will rise from
their graves which contradicts the existence of souls.
Souls are not thought to be nesting in human's dead
bodies six feet under since the Bible makes it clear the
body is only a vehicle or a home for our (supposed) souls
and when our bodies die, the souls leave it.
So why is it prophesied that souls are still in our dead
bodies?
Well, it's another mystery that only God must know its
answer.
Or maybe it's some more horseshit. That prophecy gave rise
to the lore of zombies which have been quite popular as
entertainment fantasy. And quite profitable, as well.
Does a zombie have a soul? In zombie lore, authors and
screenwriters regard zombies as lost tortured souls obsessed
with consumption of human flesh and blood, particularly
brains.
But other writers refer to zombies as "soulless."
Whatever the truth might be, you'll be likely hoping for
your living body (with a soul) to be among the 144,000
rescued from the planet before the very worst of the predicted
calamities occur.
It is possible you'll be "abducted" by aliens wanting 144,000
bodies for an intergalactic restaurant chain.
In that scenario, cafe patrons won't care if you have a soul
or not - just that you're properly cooked, seasoned and served
in an appetizing presentation.

present with the Lord. See 2 Corinthians 5:8.

Your confused reply is exactly why I don't count on religion
to resolve any mystery or rely on it as truth.

Bodies are dead. Souls immediately evacuate. But some bodies
deserve to be raised, changed and have their previous soul
inhabit it again.

LOLOL!

So, are we talking the freshest dead bodies? It would seem so.
And what of the rotted bodies? Well, those people were just
unlucky to have been lying there so damned long.

Religion. The stuff that madness is made of. And it's no wonder
Donnie's playing evangelism's fans so heavily. Well, it must've
been God's intervention that saved his life in Butler, PA., July
13th. An act of Providence that helps prove Donnie's got a great
destiny to fulfill.

Religion. The stuff that madness is made of.
Did you see how well the Soviet Union did without religion?

You desire to dwell in the alt realities that favor replacing
facts with beliefs. I'm no more impressed with your and MAGA's
Deep State than with your explanation for the dead rising
during the Apocalypse. Both rely almost entirely on belief for
acceptance by the adherent who's most often trading facts for a
form of fiction! I guess "truth" to you and many needs to conform
to your biases or it's useless and invalid.
The soul is the only thing worth saving according to most
analyses of biblical text. Returning souls in the Hindi mindset
inhabit newborn bodies to work out bad Karma. It is clear bodies
are disposable but souls are eternal.
Why then should the Christian God want to bother with their
dead bodies at all? Unimportant say many scholars. Contradictory.
And in heaven, will our souls have the same bodies? If so, then
the importance of the body in that situation defies the
pronouncements by many religious scholars that returning souls inhabit
dissimilar bodies. A big man's soul comes back in a dwarf's body, for
example.
Your biblical beliefs now mix heavily with Deep State beliefs with
the latter's proponents, including of course Donnie's rigged
election claim, being presented as truth that the Left's supposed
"ignoramuses" and evildoers wish to ignore.
Yep, to your warped mindset, the "enemy within" needs to go along
with the reality of your and MAGA's beliefs being truth and stop our
stupid ignorant opposition.
Even if it takes many rifles shooting us dead to get the swamp drained
in order to refill it with the far right's most fanatical. Liz
Cheney needs to wear a Kevlar vest and helmet after Donnie's
weird cautionary remark.
Oh! And did you notice the crimson background lighting for the MSG
stage show Donnie held? You once imagined the red backdrop for Biden had
something to do with the Antichrist. Has the AC's evil influence spread
to Donnie's traveling carnival of crazies?
You know, the one with the nightclub comic he pretends to know nothing
about! The profane and racist schmuck that cost Donnie support from the
Puerto Rican and Latino communities. All he next needs to do is to have
an unknown comedian racially poke at blacks and Asians. That should draw
the curtain on his creepy circus.
He has others throw slabs of red meat for his racist segment to chew on.
Donnie hates to lose ANY support; presumably, that includes dick-tator
Putin, mad bomber Bibi and Rocket Man.
He runs with a scurvy contemptible gang at the top - mostly
authoritarians out for maximum power and wealth. If convicted next
year, Donald may seek asylum (from imprisonment) in Russia, one of
the very few nations that show a majority support for him. Or maybe
Bibi can give the oaf shelter from the "storm."

So, are we talking the freshest dead bodies? It would seem so.
And what of the rotted bodies? Well, those people were just
unlucky to have been lying there so damned long.
I'm not surprised you don't understand. You don't want to
understand. You want to muddle the topic with your own
confusion. No, Doc, as the verses I cited make clear, the
raised bodies will be CHANGED. This also applies to those
whose bodies were burned beyond recognition. Which also
applies to those who were cremated. All believers will have
a brand new body, which will be unlike our current human
bodies.

Religion. The stuff that madness is made of.
Did you see how well the Soviet Union did without religion?
Would you have preferred to live in that hellhole of a society?
You desire to dwell in the alt realities that favor replacing
facts with beliefs.
Why is it that you can never answer a straight question?

Why then should the Christian God want to bother with their
dead bodies at all?
Maybe to show those left behind that it was believers who
were taken up when Jesus came back to get us. Jesus says,

"In my Fathers house are many rooms. If it were not so,
would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for
you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will
come again and will take you to myself, that where I
am you may be also. John 14:2-3

Unimportant say many scholars. Contradictory.
There will always be mockers and scoffers.

And in heaven, will our souls have the same bodies?
No. As I have already said at least once or twice, we will
be CHANGED!!! I even cited the Bible verse that says it.
Here it is again: See 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

If so, then
the importance of the body in that situation defies the
pronouncements by many religious scholars that returning souls inhabit
dissimilar bodies.
I don't care what mockers and scoffers say about it.

The thought of staying in a bedroom next to
yours sends shivers down my spine. Does this
mansion have enough room to still keep a
healthy distance from troublesome souls?

Before you consider any of that, do you know the way to
get to Heaven?

All I know is that I don't want to end up where some
other people are going. That's enough that needs to
be known.
